The steps you need to take if you start a job at the University
vary,
depending on whether you're:
If You Are New to the University
- Contact your departmental administrator
to find out what the deadlines are for completing and submitting
the:
- Employment Application Form
- U.S. Department of Justice Employment Eligibility Verification
Form (Form I-9)
- State and Federal Tax Withholding Form
(Form W-2)
- Pick up your University identification card from the Campus Card Office in
the lobby of Regenstein Library, once you are on the payroll system.
- Review the information in the benefits
packet given to you by your departmental administrator.
- Attend the new employee orientation session
on the date mentioned in the benefits packet given to you by your
departmental administrator.
- Complete the forms for the following
benefits within 31 days of employment. Staff employees will receive
the forms at the new employee orientation.
- Medical
- Dental
- Long-Term Disability
- Group Life Insurance
- Personal Accident Insurance
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Qualified Transportation Program
- Retirement Income Plan for Employees
- Supplemental Retirement Program
- Union Employees Only: Complete
and return the Union Enrollment form and the Acknowledgement of
Dues Deduction to the Employment Office as soon as possible.

to Another
- Contact your departmental administrator
to find out whether your prior department has transferred your:
- Vacation
- Sick Days
- Personal Holiday Accruals
- If your status has changed from full-time
to part-time (or vice versa), click
