Local 134 Agreement
AGREEMENT
AGREEMENT made the 17th day of March, 2008, by and between THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, a corporation not for pecuniary profit, organized under the laws of the State of Illinois, located at Chicago, Illinois (hereinafter referred to as the "University"); and THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, Local #134, A.F.L.-C.I.O. (hereinafter referred to as the "Union") for and on behalf of themselves and the employees covered by this Agreement.
ARTICLE I PURPOSE
OF AGREEMENT
The purpose of this Agreement is to promote good relations between the University, the Union and the employees in the bargaining unit represented by the Union, and to make clear the basic terms upon which such relations depend. It is the intent of both the University and the Union to work together to provide and maintain satisfactory terms and conditions of employment and to prevent as well as adjust misunderstandings or grievances relating to employment.
Wherever, in this agreement, "man", "men” or the related pronouns appear, either as words or as parts of words, they have been used for literary purposes and are meant in their generic sense (i.e., to include all human-kind -- both female and male sexes).
