AGREEMENT

AGREEMENT made this 29th day of January, 2004, by and between UNIVERSITY REAL ESTATE OPERATIONS OFFICE, hereinafter referred to as "U.R.E.O.O.", a Department of the University of Chicago, organized under the laws of the State of Illinois, located at Chicago, Illinois, and the SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL NO. 73, A.F.L.-C.I.O., hereinafter referred to as the "Union".

ARTICLE I    PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT

The purpose of this Agreement is to promote good relations between the U.R.E.O.O. Maintenance Shop, the Union and the employees in the Maintenance Shop bargaining unit represented by the Union and to make clear the basic terms upon which such relations depend. It is the intent of both U.R.E.O.O. and the Union to work together to provide and maintain satisfactory terms and conditions of employment, and to prevent as well as adjust grievances.
