Customized Courses

Training and Development contracts with University departments to help them design and deliver training in their own areas of subject-matter expertise.

The Training department and the University department each play specific roles in this working partnership.

Training provides guidance and feedback to the department as it develops its training event, including: suggestions on how the department can assess the needs of its target audience; guidance on how the department can design instruction given its goals; feedback and coaching on delivery; and help with ways the department can evaluate its training effort.

The department is responsible for the following: creating and administering needs analysis tools; using information gathered from the needs analysis; knowledge of its own subject matter to design the training event; delivering the training; and evaluating the training for necessary revisions.

Training and Development also offers some existing courses to individual University departments or divisions upon request.

Training and Development assesses departments a $300 fee for half-day courses, and a $600 fee for all full-day customized courses.
