Online Training: Managing the Grievance Process

Welcome to the "Managing the Grievance Process" online training course! This multimedia presentation is intended to serve as a complete training toolkit for use by University of Chicago management staff, HR administrators, and departments. The toolkit contains a 45-minute instructional video, a complete PowerPoint course presentation, supplemental newsletter articles, and a brief survey to offer your feedback.

In this training session led by Kathy Irving, Director for Employee/Labor Relations (E/LR), you will learn about the purpose of the grievance process, how to prevent a grievance, grievance timelines, steps in the grievance process, and how to prepare for and conduct a grievance meeting. The online course replicates instructor-led training in condensed form. Feel free to copy and distribute the print materials as needed.
