Short Term Disability

Short-term disability (STD) provides partial income protection to benefits-eligible employees who have successfully satisfied a specific period of time in a position at the University - the time period depends on the employee's job classification. Such employees are eligible to receive short-term disability payment for non-work-related injury or illness, including pregnancy disabilities.

Any eligible employee who is absent from work because of a non-work related accident or illness will be entitled to benefit payments beginning the fifteenth (15th) day of such absence or at the completion of time covered by accrued sick leave, whichever is the longer period.
